NDCS: My Future event March 2014


The NDCS are running an event for deaf young people aged 16-18 on the 1st March in Birmingham. This is a one day event for deaf young people who are thinking about what they would like to do when they leave school. They will have workshops on applying for University and work, support and information available, technology, CV writing and interview skills. They will also have young deaf role models there who will be sharing their experiences and answering questions.

Deaf Child Worldwide is looking for a programme manager to join their team to be responsible for the administration of the work in their East Africa programme.  Deaf Child Worldwide is the international development arm of NDCS. Deaf Child Worldwide currently has regional programmes in East Africa, South Asia and Latin America.

Volunteer interpreters - online coursework

I am looking for Volunteer Interpreters (BSL level 3+) to translate some online coursework into BSL.

I am about to embark on a course in Structural Management, NVQ level 3 & 4, and need this information translating into BSL.

The course is flexible, I needs to complete 100 hours over 6 months to 12 months.

If you are a BSL interpreter and looking to gain points as part of your CPD, then this is ideal for you!

I live in London, and I am prepared to meet the budding volunteer(s) in a mainstream venue or via Skype, and is flexible.

Deaf actor needed - Hollyoaks


Are you a young deaf actor?

Hollyoaks is looking for a Deaf actor over 16 years old. After a few initial episodes, the role will feature heavily in ground-breaking online material, before returning to the show and potentially becoming a regular character. 

Actors can be fully or partially deaf, must be ableto communicate in sign language, and must be either 16 or older andable to realistically play 16.
