 Jack Hunt School's annual Show week is Tuesday 10^th – Friday 13^th February, with a sign supported performance on Thursday 12^th. Tickets are now on sale from Tuesday 27^th January.

Sign supported school musical performance at Jack Hunt School

The young performers from JackHunt School are working hard on their school edition of the musical theatre classic - Les Misérables . After months of hard work, the student actors will perform over four nights.

Thursday 7 February will be the signed supported performance.

Doors open from 7 for a 7.30 start.

Les Misérables, the 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo, is also currently showing in many national cinemas.

Integrated Sign Language performance - Cindrella

Next month ACTivate community theatre present their integrated sign language performance of Cindrella. So what is an Integrated Sign Language performance?

It is were Sign Language is integrated into the action of the shows. The interpreters are on stage with characters. Interpreters move round stage with character signing as the character speaks. Some interpreters have two or three characters each so move from one to another.

"The interpretation of dialogue and song by members of the cast is woven into the fabric of the performance and adds an extra dynamic, creative element." Chicken Shed Theatre company

Signed Performance "Oklahoma"

Members of Jack Hunt School’s Musical Theatre Group are performing one of the best-loved musicals of all time: “Oklahoma” which tells the story of cowboy Curly McLain and his romance with farm girl Laurey Williams set in 1906.This year’s show follows on from last year’s highly praised production of “Grease” and includes many students as performers, musicians, technical and backstage crews.
The performances will take place every evening in the school’s Main Hall from Tuesday 13 March up to and including Friday 16 March, commencing at 7.30 pm.

There will be a signed performance on Thursday 15 March.
