Inspire Peterborough introduces Sporting Sunday!




Following on from the success of Sporting Saturday over the last few years, Inspire Peterborough are launching a new accessible sport event, Sporting Sunday!

The First Sporting Sunday will take place on 5th July from 1.30pm at Jack Hunt School Sports Centre in Netherton and will showcase inclusive sports that have not yet featured at Sporting Saturday events.

Some of the most exciting of these are Swimming, Goalball, Wheelchair Dance and Seated Volleyball, which will all take place on site.

We're looking for a paid playleader - could it be you?


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced play leader to lead our team of volunteers and children at our annual summer playscheme.

The position is paid and there is no need for experience of working with deaf children as training and on-going guidance will be provided. We will also have communication supporters on hand.

The role is paid and the rate is open to negotiation.
We're looking for someone with:
  • Experience with working with children as young as 5
  • Someone to plan a week long schedule from 9am to 3pm daily
  • Can work from 17th August at Jack Hunt School
  • Energetic and passionate about children having fun
  • Good at working with assistants
  • Willing to adapt communication style to suit varying levels of deafness
  • Preferably a teacher or teaching assistant or play leader looking for some extra experience and pay in the holiday
Its a great and rewarding job that helps bust the isolation often experience by deaf children in the school holidays.

PDDCS AGM 2015

Hello Everyone.

PDDCS AGM 2015 will be at Big Sky in Peterborough on 28th May from 6-8pm. PDDCS have hired the the venue so the kids can play whilst the meeting takes place.

An American Supper style evening is planned so please bring a plate of whatever food you fancy!.

PDDCS will be selecting a new committee and are always looking for some new people to join the PDDCS for another exciting year ahead. Even if you don't wish to be directly involved on the committee please come along and enjoy an evening together.
