Mentoring Job Opportunity Released

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) is the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.

Mentor (additional complex needs)
Project based at various locations
Sessional rates (£100–£400 dependent on event type)
Mostly weekends, evenings and school holidays

We are looking for a team of sessional mentors who can make a big difference to the lives of deaf children and young people with additional complex needs.

The mentor, working closely with the Project Leader team will be responsible for supporting and mentoring volunteers working with deaf children with additional needs or additional complex needs on NDCS residential events. This includes working with children with physical and sensory disabilities, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
You will be the person that everyone at the event looks to for advice on includingdeaf children with additional complex needs in activities, providing direct support to our volunteers and lead bespoke training around working with children with additional complex needs.

You must be experienced in working with children and young people with additional complex needs, be an excellent communicator and demonstrate leadership and training skills. A commitment to ensuring deaf children with additional complex needs have a good and inspirational experience during our events is essential, along with a “can-do attitude. 

These roles are sessional. You will be based on our events which take place during evenings, weekends and school holidays. You must be flexible to travel to venues across the UK.
