Good News! Music and the Deaf will return to Jack Hunt School for four sessions following the success of the first event there a couple of weeks ago. The National Deaf Orchestra sessions will be on:
26th November
14th January
25th February
10th March
Lin Hetherington, who is the Deputy Head of Cambridgeshire Music said:
"For those who are new to Music and the Deaf may I explain that this is part of a National Deaf Orchestra initiative in partnership with Cambridgeshire Music. All the young people try out instruments and choose which one to have for their lesson. We all make music together at some point during the session and every child has one to one attention as well as working within a group.
All the meetings will be from 10:00 - 12:00 and parents are very welcome to stay and participate with the young people. When we met there on 15th October we had a wonderful morning with instrumental lessons and an Indian Dhol drumming workshop. We are expecting yet more children to join us on 26th November and we intend to feature the Dhol drums again. Please advertise this opportunity as much as you can to all hearing impaired young people and encourage them to come along, try an instrument and join in the fun."
We Will!
