This week deaf-uk-jobs advertised the following opportunity:
"Deafinitely Theatre is looking for volunteers to provide
communication support for box office and front of house staff at Southwark
Playhouse (near London Bridge) before and after performances of
Tanika's Journey http://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/the-vault/tanikas-journey/
The
roles are suitable for those studying BSL at Level 3 or above and seeking to
gain further experience. You will be asked arrive at Southwark Playhouse one
hour before the show starts to interpret conversations between deaf members
of the public and Southwark Playhouse's staff. You may also be asked to
assist in the collection offeedback forms after shows.
In exchange for
volunteering we will cover reasonable travel expenses within London and offer
a free ticket to see the play.
The play opens on 26th September and
closes on 20th October. Performances are at 7.30pm each eveningwith 3pm
matinees on Saturdays. If you are interested in volunteering please email
